Teacher Assistant

Years of curiosity and questions. Toddlers never stop asking questions and being curious therefore, our curriculum is designed to keep your child’s attention and spark  their imagination. A few of our activities include circle time, physical fitness, potty training, art, clean-up, story time, outdoor play, and hygiene. 

Job Summary

Assisting the lead teacher with students’ daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily student activities inside and outside of the classroom.
  •   Maintains a calm, caring attitude and constant observation of the children to respectfully enforce ground rules and classroom behavior guidelines. 
  •  Uses Positive Discipline techniques to aid in the social and emotional development of each child. 
  •  Assists in maintaining a neat, well organized, and prepared environment. 
  •  Communicates openly and effectively with co-workers and administration. 
  •   Attends all staff meetings, and professional sessions
  • Assist during meal time
  •  Follows the center’s policies and procedures for student record keeping. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  •  Must be at least 18 years of age.
  •   Employment or volunteer experience indicating an ability to effectively follow, and give, directions 
  •  A compassionate, nurturing attitude 
  •  Effective written & verbal communication skills
  •   Desire to work in a constantly changing environment 
  •  Comfortable using and learning new technology 
  • Willing to complete required child care trainings
  •  Able to pass background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Swahili and English 

Wages

  • $11 her hour

Day: Monday to Friday 

Time : 

  • 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and
  • 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
